Winery Review: A wine sourced purely from Primitivo grapes grown and harvested throughout Lizzano, Torricella and Taranto. The long maceration of the skins provides a rich extraction and an intense, deep ruby red color with a particular aroma of blackberry and plum. The smoothness of its palates amazes as its flavor whole and persistent with a pleasant sweetness in the end. An ideal complement to means, game and cheeses.
My Review: This is one of the best red wines that I have ever tasted. It has a very pretty red color in the glass and really had a great color wheel when it was swirled around in the glass. The nose was not very strong but it was very pleasant. It tasted a lot like a bowl of fresh dark berries, currents and plums with a sprinkling of sugar on top of them. This wine does not really have the acidity that some of the other wines that we tasted had. It would pair nicely with some bread. I would also like to tasted this wine with some cheese.
I did not taste this wine with cheese.
